Study AR & VR Development in Madrid
You're about to move across borders to learn something that didn't even exist as a proper field ten years ago. That's a big leap. We've been helping international students figure out everything from visa applications to finding the right apartment near campus since 2019. The tech industry here is growing, and Spain's student visa process is pretty straightforward once you know what to expect.
Getting Your Student Visa Sorted
Spain's student visa isn't complicated, but it does take time. Most students from outside the EU need about eight to twelve weeks for the whole process. You'll need an acceptance letter from us, proof of funds (around €700 monthly is the standard), health insurance, and somewhere to live.
What trips people up most often? Waiting until the last minute to get documents apostilled or thinking they can start the process a month before classes begin. Give yourself at least three months.
- We send your acceptance letter within five business days of enrollment
- Our admissions team walks you through required documents step by step
- You can book housing through our partner network before arriving
- Visa allows part-time work (up to 20 hours weekly during term)
What We Actually Help With
Before You Arrive
Pre-arrival orientation sessions happen online in June and December. We cover banking, phone plans, residence permits, and where to buy affordable furniture. Previous students share what they wish they'd known before landing at Barajas airport.
First Month Support
Airport pickup, NIE number appointment booking, bank account setup assistance, and metro card registration. You'll also get paired with a current student from your region who remembers what those first weeks felt like.
Throughout Your Program
Monthly check-ins with our international coordinator, visa renewal guidance, career counseling in English, and access to our mental health support network. We also run cultural exchange events that don't feel forced or awkward.
After Graduation: Your Options
Spain updated its immigration law in 2022, making it easier for graduates to stay and work. You can apply for a job-seeking visa that gives you twelve months to find employment in your field. Once you land a role, converting to a work permit is fairly straightforward.
About 40% of our international graduates from the 2024 cohort stayed in Spain. Another 30% moved to other EU countries where their Spanish degree and experience opened doors. The rest went home with skills that transferred well.
The AR and VR sector here isn't huge yet, which actually works in your favor. Companies hiring for these roles know there aren't hundreds of qualified candidates. If you've built a decent portfolio during the program, you're already ahead.
We don't guarantee jobs. But we do introduce you to studios, help polish your portfolio, and connect you with alumni working at places that might have openings. That's been enough for most of our graduates to find something within six months of finishing.
What Previous Students Say
The visa process was less scary than I expected because they told me exactly what to do and when. I arrived in Madrid knowing where I'd live and how to get my residence card. That made everything easier when classes started.
From Sweden, graduated June 2025
I wasn't sure about staying in Spain after finishing, but the job-seeking visa gave me time to apply properly. Found work at a small studio in Barcelona four months after graduation. My Spanish still isn't great, but it's improving.
From Ukraine, now working in Barcelona
